The past few months I have been exploring a new series that I am calling my "Art Nouveau Migration" series.  I have been studying the art Nouveau period and looking at the color palette that was used as well as form and shape that were typical of that time frame.

Britanica defines Art Nouveau as the following:
Art Nouveau, ornamental style of art that flourished between about 1890 and 1910 throughout Europe and the United States. Art Nouveau is characterized by its use of a long, sinuous, organic line and was employed most often in architecture, interior design, jewelry and glass design, posters, and illustration. https://www.britannica.com/art/Art-Nouveau

I have always been drawn to nature so this new approach really resonates for me.
I am excited to show you a few pieces that I have completed in my exploration.

"Portland's Party is Coming Out Roses" - Takes 1st place at the 2013 Rose Show!

Picture I was so thrilled and honored that the juror gave me a first place for the theme category in this years Juried Portland Rose Festival show with the Oregon Society of Artists.  Very cool.  Then was doubly thrilled to also win the people’s choice award.  I actually was quite surprised  because I heard several large groups of people talking about a different painting that they were voting for so when they called my name I wasn’t expecting it!  Woo Hoo!
